The Class III Biosafety Cabinet is designed to work best with risk group 4 microorganisms. The gas-tight enclosure ensures the safety of the environment and the worker from the specimen that is being studied.

The Class 3 Biological Safety Cabinets  are also called Gloveboxes, due to work being conducted using arm-length gloves. These gloves are fixed to the cabinet glass which completely isolates the environment from the ongoing process inside the chamber.

A Class III Microbiological Safety Cabinet provides a barrier between the specimen being examined and the user examining it. Prior planning and previous experience in the operating of such specimen will make the use of these cabinets successful.

Class III Biosafety Cabinet Features

Having three High-Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filters, the cabinet ensures maximum safety for the user and the environment. The Class III Biological Safety Cabinet has a complete and airtight sealed chamber for working with hazardous materials.

The long butyl gloves are attached to the ports of the cabinet in a way that permits  their changing without the risk of contamination. These gloves are specially designed in a way that prevents the direct contact of the specimen with the user’s skin.

Furthermore, the materials that need to be brought  into the chamber are transferred through a pass box. The pass box is a feature of the BSC which ensures the safe movement of the materials from and into the working compartment. The pass box has two doors with electromechanical locks and with a penetrable pullout tabletop which makes it easier to move items into and out of the chamber.

The air inside the chamber passes the two HEPA filters before being discharged outside.

An independent exhaust system outside the work chamber is responsible for the airflow being maintained. It ensures that the pressure of the cabinet is negative.

Comfortable Ergonomic Design

The PROTECT class III biosafety cabinet by LAMSYSTEMS is not just functional but is also user-friendly. Almost all of the manipulations for loading and disinfection can be easily done by a single person and do not require any additional personnel.

To ensure safety, glove ports are designed to make it easier for the old gloves to be removed and new ones to be inserted. The use of stainless steel makes the cleaning of the work surface easy and less tedious.

Maintenance

Being impermeable to most chemicals, stainless steel can be cleaned with any solvent or cleaner, but the regular cleaning with strong solvents needs to be carefully anticipated. While cleaning the equipment, special care must be taken to avoid the HEPA filters being wetted. In case it gets wet, turn off the unit until it is dry.

Class III Cabinets guarantee safe manipulations with high-risk samples. These cabinets are manufactured to meet the latest requirements to this type of equipment and ensure maximum protection of the personnel and the environment, from a sample being studied.
